What we do

Miss Amara is a small family business that strives to deliver an exceptional, uncomplicated and most of all enjoyable journey for the customer who is in search of their perfect rug.

We're Amie, Aaron and Alex & I guess it's no secret, we love a good rug. (There are no secrets with family right?!).
Each of us have all tried to buy a rug (numerous times) at some point before Miss Amara came into existence. One of us (Alex) bought one, but two of us gave up! So what happened here? We all started the same - enthusiastic, excited, picturing our dreamy rug with star studded eyes... But then somewhere along the way - something ruined it for us.

Maybe it was slogging it out to big warehouses and showrooms that left us tired and lost. Maybe it was the never ending closing down sales, (by the way - WHAT is with that?!). Or was it the endless searching, mouse points and clicks?

Needless to say it left us exhausted, and the dream of the shiny new rug seemed not like such a good idea after all.

Why we do

Miss Amara exists to inspire, entertain and delight you. Sure - we love that we can build and grow a company that does things differently, but at the end of the day our customers are at the heart of our business.
So if we can continue to add value, to educate and encourage customers to create more living spaces that inspire happiness - well then, we've achieved our purpose ;)

How we do

We want to help! At Miss Amara, we're changing the way that people shop for rugs.

Firstly, we want to keep the buying process online. Coming from a strong technology background, you should know that we're strong believers in e commerce. It's speedy, efficient and convenient - (door to door - who doesn't love that!) and we strongly believe it gives customers the best end to end experience.

BUT WE UNDERSTAND THAT A RUG IS A BIG PURCHASE (quite literally, some of our rugs measure in at 3x4 meters!).

So we want to give customers all the confidence (and more) that comes with the "face to face" (or rather face to rug) experience.

As a new team member

Miss Amara seeks an experienced Executive Assistant to carry out the role of EA split between the CEO and CXO - Miss Amara's co-founders. The role of EA for the co-founders will be across two high growth startups they have founded - Miss Amara and Elevate Digital.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get in early in two high-growth startups (one a global e-commerce startup & and the other a digital marketing agency) with great potential for career progression as both companies expand into new markets.

Key Responsibilities:

●Monitoring & maintaining the Co-founder's diaries (across multiple time zones), emails and communications and filtering/advising as appropriate.
●50%/50% split responsibilities across the founders business and personal tasks and priorities.
●Planning and coordinating travel and itinerary requirements.
●Referring operational or product enquiries to the appropriate team member and undertaking any follow up action considered appropriate.
●Manage and maintain Google Sheets or Excel spreadsheets
●Assist with ad hoc reporting requirements
●Prepare all aspects of leadership meetings, from presentations, minutes and action items
●Assist in administrative tasks, such as hiring/screening job candidates, expense tracking/reporting, bank coordination, office management, shareholder/board communication, vendor research, organising company events, maintaining document filing, staff onboarding, etc.
●Provide ad hoc administrative/office assistance to the global Miss Amara & Elevate Digital teams, in Australia, Hong Kong, Philippines, USA, & Serbia.

Skills Required:

●Demonstrated 3 years' plus Executive Assistant experience to a CEO or similar C Suite Executive
●Proactive and effective problem solving & time management skills
●Calm and friendly personality, displaying the highest degree of professionalism and confidentiality
●Good knowledge of Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
●Process driven with an appreciation for the importance of documentation and training
●Self-sufficient, self-motivated and able to quickly adapt to change working in a fast-paced startup in an ever-changing environment
●A go-getter attitude who is not afraid to pick up the phone and speak with external parties
●Must have outstanding written & spoken English and Cantonese
