Fluidity: A Spatial Design Project

Fluidity is part of a combined spatial design project, where it seeks to divide spaces whilst complementing each other as opposites. This idea of fluidity and empty space was heavily inspired from Kenya Hara's quote:
The mechanism of communication is activated when we look at an empty vessel, not as a negative state, but in terms of its capability to be filled with something.
The idea of flight was the true inspiration for our concept and the materiality which allowed such wafer thin gliders travel through the air. We wanted to replicate the effect of that drift of air and wondered how the movement of the body creates a similar phenomenon. Thereafter, as our true asian roots took over, we all dreamt of the view where lalang fields swayed endlessly in the wind.By converging the two concepts, it formed the basis of our project that is to be followed by many hours of cutting and arranging our ideal lalang field.※ lalang or blade grass is a common sight in southeast asian countries and in the movie, Jurassic Park: The Lost World where the dangerous Velociraptors commonly lurk.
