My own brand of luxury ladieswear began with my university graduate collection, entitled "Japonisme" for the Autumn/Winter of 2012. After working in a high-street supply company for 18 months, I decided to return to a craft-approach by working on a small scale and producing luxury garments by hand, from design development and sampling, through to cutting, sewing, and finishing. Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) of English at Senior High Schools in Yamagata Prefecture: I was recruited via the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme, this teaching role is also one of cultural exchange, bringing to the table not only my native English and teaching skills, but my Irish and European identity too. - Inspired by the playful Lolita lifestyle subculture which originated in Japan, Ojou-sama celebrated the key elements of the fun style in a bright range of accessories and clothing. - Handmade by the designer, Ojou-sama products were carefully and precisely finished, using both new and upcycled materials.

• Working as part of the five-person design team for the company's biggest account, a UK supermarket fashion brand. Researching and building multiple fabric/trim packs from trend-led ladieswear stories, up to four phases per season. • Co-ordinating the production of sample garments to strict deadlines by liaising with the designer, pattern maker, cutter and machinist.

An internship which provided design, sampling/production, and business experience, with an ethical fashion brand. I spent the summer of 2011 working with company founder and designer Sophie Rieu, in The Garden of Unicorn in Greystones; the studio and boutique of Unicorn Design. Location: Greystones, Co. Wicklow, Republic of Ireland.

During my time as Sales Assistant at GameStop Ltd, I was also called on to take key-holding responsibilities including the end-of-day cash up, opening and closing the shop, receiving and shipping stock, supervising staff and delegating tasks. I worked part-time during college semesters, and worked extra hours in peak seasons and to provide holiday cover.
