兩位畢業於劍橋大學的BigBangAcademy年輕創辦人——Sarah & Nixon，如何利用學院知識，讓你和小朋友一起投入STEM活學世界？

Sarah與Nixon是在劍橋大學相識的，Sarah主修工程學，Nixon主修生物學，他們對科學的熱情聯繫二人走在一起，亦是創辦Big Bang Academy的最大契機。

他們認為科學是讓人保持對世界的好奇心，他們也想為香港的小朋友引進及營造這樣的學習環境，於是成立Big Bang Academy，希望讓小朋友在課堂外再次感受科學的趣味。「Big Bang」這個名字也是代表著宇宙的起源，萬事萬物中都有科學的存在，亦希望帶出科學是有趣而好玩的，每個人都想參與其中。

劍橋生怎樣看：理性科學提升感性親子情

或者你沒有想到，其實從理性至上的科學中，也可以提升到親子之間的親密情感！Sarah很喜歡一句話：「科學面前，人人平等」，她說：「如果你是新手父母，當孩子喜歡向你問東問西時，請容許自己對孩子說：『我不知道』」

因為這樣，你就有機會與孩子一起搜集資料，一起尋找答案，甚至一起進行簡單的小實驗。這種方式反而能令你與孩子建立更緊密的關係：你不只是一個高高在上的父母，也可以與他們如團隊般一起合作、像團隊般親密互信。

小孩怎樣看：科學世界的「失敗」？

古語有「自古成功在嘗試」、「失敗乃成功之母」……其實一直以來「從錯誤中學習」都是一個讓孩子發展出健康心態的重要過程！

Sarah和Nixon曾經有個難忘教學經驗，他們在課堂上讓學生猜猜甚麼東西能被磁鐵吸住，但課堂內一個3歲的小女孩卻被嚇到動彈不得。最後發現，只有3歲的她，原來是害怕答錯答案。「因為害怕錯誤而失去了嘗試的勇氣」這件事是很可怕的，如果你從來不去嘗試，那你是不會失敗，但你也永遠不會成功。失敗並不可怕，但人生沒有「可能性」，這才是最可怕。我們要知道，每一次的失敗都是學習的過程。同時，我們要讓孩子明白，如何在每個經驗中汲取改善的方法，從中我們又能學到甚麼。就如科學家一樣，每個失敗都是新發明的誕生。從失敗中汲取教訓，才是「失敗」的意義所在。
